St Andrews is an ancient town of great beauty. It is surrounded on two sides by the sea and on a third by the world-famous golf courses. Golf has been played here for centuries and you too can
follow in the footsteps of the famous or just enjoy watching the game. The old streets and passageways of St Andrews are renowned for their distinctive shops, restaurants and bars. It is a
place to explore on foot: visit the ruined cathedral and castle which bear witness to the earlier importance of St Andrews as the ecclesiastical capital of Scotland. The leisure centre by the East
Sands, the Byre Theatre and the cinema provide for all tastes.

Beyond St Andrews are more glorious treasures. The East Neuk of Fife, that area pointing out into the North Sea, with the Firth of Forth to its south, has fishing villages and castles, museums and
country parks, lovely countryside and even more golf courses. Our climate is sunnier than in most parts of Scotland and our rainfall is low. In summer the days are long and the air is fresh and clean.
