Exhibitions
<< back

We have large and small exhibition areas within our buildings, which we can use in a variety of ways. The larger venues can accommodate shell scheme exhibitions or large poster displays. We can provide catering in most of them. None have been designed as exhibition venues but we are committed to meet the exhibition needs of our clients. When very large areas are required we can offer several lawns with electrical, water and drainage services upon which a marquee can be erected. We are pleased to work with exhibition contractors to produce a quality exhibition environment.

Large Buildings

Our largest exhibition area is the University Sports Hall, which has 672 m˛ of floor space. There is another 210 m˛ in the nearby gymnasium. The main hall at the Students’ Union has 400 m˛. In the university’s academic buildings the Physics building has 252 m˛, the Younger Hall has 210 m˛, Lower and Upper College Halls each have 179 m˛ and Parliament Hall has 165 m˛.

All these venues are on the ground floor, except for Upper College Hall. They have a good supply of 13amp socket outlets and some telephone facilities. Access to all the buildings is restricted by standard door heights but inside most have ceiling heights of at least 5m.

  Smaller Buildings

Many of our conference rooms have foyer areas, which can accommodate a small exhibition of around five 3 x 2 m stands or fifteen posters. Our residential buildings also have areas, which can be used in a similar way. We will be pleased to advise how best we can meet the needs for these smaller events.

  Marquees

The level lawn behind Lower College Hall on the United College site is 2,592 m˛ and can accommodate a substantial marquee. Electricity, water and drainage are available. This site is very close to both Lower and Upper College Halls, which offer dining for 250 guests if required. The nearby St. Salvator’s Hall lawn has approximately 900 m˛ of useful space. The total lawn area is larger but supports some mature trees. At New Hall there is 875 m˛ available for a marquee, which can be serviced very conveniently from the residence. There are other marquee sites elsewhere in the university. We have described the most convenient but please ask us if you would like more information.
